It’s difficult to reduce Stefan Guido Schmidt to a single medium. The german artist began his career as an illustrator, grafic designer, video artist, and art director. Music also played a significant role in his life as a musician, allowing him to express himself.

As co-founder of the Art-Nightclub RANGAVILAS (Hamburg, 2001), he finally combined all his talents by staging an old tobacco warehouse in Hamburg’s Speicherstadt (now the Elbphilharmonie of Hamburg) for six months with his Photographs, Installations and video art, he repeatedly created new, immersive worlds.

In 2002 he turned his back on the advertising industry, and went on a one year journey around the world where he discovered his love for photography and created a remarkable portfolio of pictures and photoshoots during this time.

Back in Germany he continues working as a photographer, creating design concepts for events and developing, planning his own exhibitions.

After 15 years in Germany’s capital, Berlin, the photographer moved to the Greek island of Agina, where he lived for five years. Inspired by the island’s unique light, which is beloved by many artists, he created his first short film, “GHOSTS,” which has since been shown in various exhibitions.

During his time on his beloved island, he also returned to drawing and painting after a long hiatus, alongside photography and video art. The works created during this period will be shown for the first time in a solo exhibition in July 2026 on another Greek island, Kithara, together with his latest artworks of digital collages (created between 2024 -2026).
